Exploring Judaism - An Introduction to Mishnah
and Talmud, part 1 of 2
After the Exodus from Egypt, Moses led the Israelites to
Mount Sinai where, according to Jewish tradition,
Moses received TWO sets of divine instruction – The Written
Torah and the Oral Torah. The Oral Torah was memorized
and transmitted orally until the Second Temple was
destroyed. Fearing that this information would eventually
fade away, the early rabbis codified the Oral Torah, which
we now know as Mishnah and Talmud. In this Exploring
Judaism session, we will separate myth from fact as we
explore famous passages from the Oral Torah. All are
welcome and no prior knowledge necessary.
Part 2 will be held on Sunday, March 27th from 10-noon.
Have you made your reservation yet?
